Regional Editors have access to the eBird database, so all observations submitted to eBird are available for inclusion in their reports. Submitted observations are most useful when accompanied by accurate checklist data regarding protocol, effort, and other comments in eBird. Unusual records, such as reports of rarities, unusual dates, high counts, etc., are most useful when backed up by thoughtful details, as well as photos when available and appropriate. Acknowledging the unusual nature of an observation and explaining why it is acceptable not only aids in eBird review but also helps our Regional Editors (and everyone else) to place the data in context and to perceive potentially important patterns.

Birders who do not use eBird are asked to submit their most unusual and potentially important observations directly to the designated Regional Editor(s) listed below. Please document your records with explanatory details and – when possible – photos, and email them to the appropriate Regional Editor(s) by the due date for the reporting season indicated at the bottom of this page.
