Western Meadowlark
Discovered by Ken Rosenberg on
8 April 2000, this male Western Meadowlark(Sturnella
neglecta) maintained a territory for most of April (at least)
in farmland near Dryden Lake in Tompkins County.
A superb series of digital
camera images of this bird, together with some very useful
discussion of separation from Eastern Meadowlark, can be found
on NYSARC member Kevin
McGowan's homepage.
